Supplemental Vocabulary List: Definitions and illustrations.
Each of these terms needs 4 things:
- The definition and origin (cited, of course);
- An illustration of the original usage (cited, of course);
- An updated definition;
- An image of a modern garment/accessory/decoration that illustrates the occurrence of the historical elements in the modern world, perhaps as an homage or point of reference (these images may also be used for the historic costume file).
Keeping the various elements in each category as discreet from one another as possible is important (remember the concept of "compare and contrast"). Assemble PowerPoint slides for presentation during class (and to deposit into Dropbox on the course Sakai site for evaluation) -- remembering to cite all sources. Terms for each student will be assigned in class.
